KNOW YOUR BEEF

About Our Beef

Quality Beef starts with a healthy animal,  SCB places animal health at the forefront of all decisions that need to be made.

Let us show you the process of how your beef is grown.

We aim to be fully transparent, we wont feed you a line of BULL.

1.Cow/Calf

SCB does not keep a regular herd, where new calves are born to us every year.  We are partnered with 5 local farmers, who raise the calves until they are weaned, weigh over 500lbs, and healthy enough to stand on their own.

We select cattle called "feeders" based on their ability to produce quality efficient Beef.

These farmers each raise a quality calf, keep their animals well fed, and properly cared for.  they put thought into every aspect of their operation.

These farmers are paid for the quality that they produce.

2.Spring Creek Beef Company

Once the feeders arrive to SCB, Quality continues.

Once the animals have adjusted to their new home they graze on pasture. In the wintertime they still have free range over acres of pasture, but will generally choose hay for their the biggest portion of their diet.

3. Finishing -

SCB provides a simple, balanced and proven diet for our animals.  This diet consists of:

When you ask a body builder what they eat, they have a well thought out, pre-planned diet.  We are no different, we are in the business of putting muscle on cattle, and our recipe results in a high quality, tasty, and healthy meat.

4.Processing

We are partnered with a local processor, Mayberry Custom Processing. They are located in Cookeville, TN.  They will work with you to help you choose the cuts that you would like for your Beef to be processed into.  You can select how big to make the portions and how you would like it packaged.

5.Your Beef, Your way

Around 3 weeks after the animals are dropped off at the processor your beef will be packaged, frozen, and ready for you to pick up.

Now, the rest is up to you.  You must decide what you're cooking and who you're inviting for supper.

We hope that it is Beef.

Feed Ration

Our feed is simple and local, comprised of the following:

As you can see, the byproducts from many industries, are repurposed here in the form of a well balanced diet.  Calves receive a portion each day, based on their weight and dietary needs
